House & Garden selects Hernan Bas: TIME TO SHINE! (the salesmen) as a must-see exhibition this September

'The Miami-based Hernan Bas’s paintings are an exploration of the complexities of identity, and the oddities that make the ordinary extraordinary. His solo show in Venice was one of the highlights of this year’s Biennale d’Arte. Happily, Victoria Miro, N1, is presenting an exhibition of new work in London. The focus is on ‘overlooked characters’ – from a perfume counter attendant to a gallerist who specialises in paintings made by cats, and the man who sells seashells by the seashore.'
