Hernan Bas: TIME TO SHINE! (the salesmen)

Victoria Miro is delighted to present TIME TO SHINE! (the salesmen), an exhibition of new paintings by Hernan Bas.

The exhibition focuses on overlooked characters - from a perfume counter attendant and a gallerist who specialises in 'cat-made painting,' to a man who sells seashells by the seashore - capturing the interactions that make a transaction possible and the brief window that exposes a person's vulnerability or confidence.

Hernan Bas has long been celebrated for his narrative paintings rich in humour, decadence, oddities, the occult and layered codes. He explores the complexities of self-identity through characters poised at pivotal moments of transformation, where the ordinary slips into the extraordinary.
