With their themes of intimacy and isolation, the works on display at Celia Paul's new solo show at Victoria Miro, 'Desdemona for Celia by Hilton', offer a beautifully melancholy interpretation of both people and landscapes. Many of these very personal pieces are inspired by Paul's close friends and family members, including her four sisters, and by the stretch of landscape in north Devon where her father was once head of the Lee Abbey religious community.
