In this new episode, Katy Hessel visits the studio of Paula Rego to speak with the artist's son, Nick Willing, about his mother's life and work.
In 2017, Willing, a director and writer, spent a year interviewing his mother for his documentary, Secrets and Stories. Rego, now 86, is currently the subject of an acclaimed retrospective at Tate Britain, and from November 2021, Victoria Miro will present a major exhibition by the artist, held across the entirety of the gallery's Wharf Road spaces.
