Alice Neel: The Cycle of Life

This catalogue is published on the occasion of Alice Neel's 2007 exhibition at Victoria Miro, remarkably only the second time the work of the renowned American figure painter has been shown in Europe. In addition to full colour reproductions of the exhibited paintings, the catalogue contains a foreward by Victoria Miro and an edited conversation between distinguished curator, writer and critic Robert Storr and Andrew Neel, filmmaker and grandson of the artist. The interview is one of several that first appeared in  the 2007 film about the artist's life, which explores the artist's tumultuous existence, her legacy, and her determination to paint her era, of which it is a timely and unflinching portrait.
