Move over, Malevich! Shift up, Mondrian! Roll over, Rothko! The central role of women in the development of abstract art is emphatically underlined in this terrific exhibition which straddles a century and stretches over both Victoria Miro’s east and West End spaces.
The museum-quality show brings together more than 50 international artists from Europe to the Middle East, South America and Asia to puncture the traditionally macho image of abstraction and confirm that women are – and always have been – at the forefront of non-figurative art.
