On view at the National Portrait Gallery – a recent self-portrait by Barbara Walker

On view as part of the permanent collection, Self Portrait I (Venice), 2025, is from a body of work completed by the artist during a residency with Victoria Miro in Venice, created in dialogue with Old Masters and the experience of being an anonymous figure immersed in the city.

On view in Room 30, the work has been acquired as part of Collecting the Now, the Gallery's contemporary acquisitions fund supported by the Bukhman Foundation.
