Join Shahzia Sikander in conversation with Professor Dorothy Price FBA to celebrate High Seas; Closed Skies, the gallery’s first exhibition of the artist since announcing her representation.

A focal point of the exhibition is Sikander’s acclaimed new animation, 3 to 12 Nautical Miles, a radiant cinematic tableau that navigates the enduring currents of power and trade shaping the global landscape from the nineteenth century to the present day.

This special event will explore the themes and inspirations behind the work, alongside the new mosaics and works on paper featured in the exhibition.

The evening also marks the UK launch of the first standalone monograph on the artist, Shahzia Sikander by Jason Rosenfeld, published by Lund Humphries.

  • 6:15pm: Doors open and exhibition viewing
  • 7pm: Talk begins
  • 8pm: Book signing and drinks reception

This event is free; booking is essential.
