As part of its 90-year anniversary celebrations, Glyndebourne has partnered with Shawcross to produce an ambitious presentation of works with a distinct relationship to music and sound across its site. The works are on view to opera ticket holders and by appointment from 16 May–8 September 2024; outdoor sculptures will remain onsite until autumn 2025.
The centrepiece of the presentation is a group of nine large-scale sculptures from Shawcross's Paradigm series, shown together for the first time. Also on view are new works on paper as well as Shawcross's Manifold Studies sculptures, a series of works that represent a chord falling into silence extrapolated from observations of a Victorian harmonograph.
